THE ARTIST:
Born November 30th, 1973 in Puerto Rico. Since the age of 4, I have lived in New York City. Arriving in the summer of 1977 on the steps of the Bronx. After 2 years we moved to Bushwick, Brooklyn where I was raised.
One day when I was 9 years old I challenged my older brother to a contest to see who could draw better. I won the contest, this made me want to draw more. Throughout JR. High School I was interested in all that had to do with art. I had classes in Mechanical Drafting, Architecture and Fine Art for the 2 years of JR. High School. I wanted to continue studying art so I applied to the High School of Art and Design. I was accepted and started classes on September 1988, I was just 14 years old.
On July 4th 1990 I was dealt a shitty hand. A new chapter in my life began one that changed everything. I broke my neck. My childhood was over. I was discharged in the summer of 1991 my family had moved from Brooklyn to Queens and I immediately returned to school. I was not able to return to the High School of Art and Design because the school was not accessible. So was transferred to Hill Crest High School in Jamaica Queens. I just had to complete senior year and so I did, graduating in 1992. I began College soon after, Majoring in Fine Arts. I graduated and began working as an Assistant Art Coordinator. I was promoted to Art Coordinator in 1999 and in 2000 I also became the Information and Technology Manager.
THE PRODUCER:
I began to get interested in music production in the late 90's. My first try was with a software called eJay. EJay was great software for its time. In early 2000, I started to use Fruity Loops, but found it difficult to use. It was easy to create a beat but that was all I could do. So I stopped trying to produce music. At about 2011, I heard "Too Close" by Alex Clare and then a track on TV by Skrillex. Downloaded a remix from Skrillex called Feed Me vs. Knife Party vs. Skrillex - My Pink Reptile Party. I looked up the track and found out that the original track was by Feed Me. Got a bunch of tracks from Feed Me and I was hooked. I started to learn Apple's Logic Pro and the rest is history.
